NEW YORK PHOTOGRAPHY MENTOR SESSION
Had a blast in November when I visited the states, this is one of the mentor sessions I had. I am flying over to the USA next month for WPPI in Vegas 22Feb-2nd of March 2018. If you are interested in doing a mentor session, email me.

I was so fortunate to be able to do a mentor session in New York on a recent trip. I met this wonderful photographer, Brittany Stover through my online shop, and she booked a day with me in NYC. I spent the day showing her how I work and shoot.
On top of that, I got to photograph my friends and beautiful couple I met a couple of years ago when they booked me for a safari shoot in South Africa, Chan & Astami (Astami, also a photographer), posed for this session, YOU GUYS, I love you and thank you so much for being in front of my lens again! It was a rainy day in New York, but that didnt stop us from having so much fun.

CHARLIE & BIANCE
My little brother got married...it's strange, to see your baby brother become a man, he is 7 years my junior and I used to look after my two younger brothers a lot when we were younger and when we got older, so in my mind they stay kids.
I think one of my favourite feelings is laughing with someone and realising half way through how much you enjoy them and their existence ~ Unknown
My little brother got married...it's strange, to see your baby brother become a man, he is 7 years my junior and I used to look after my two younger brothers a lot when we were younger and when we got older, so in my mind they stay kids.
I think of the four kids, he is probably the most romantic one, he was always the one giving hugs and kisses as a baby (on demand, so we asked regularly). About four years ago, he said something to me that I will never forget, the two of us got in the car to go meet our new born baby nephew, Carl, the first grandchild. I remember that day so clearly, we were all extremely excited! On the way there I asked him if he ever wanted children and his response threw me back a bit (I don't know why, Charlie and I have always been great with children), he said: 'Rensche, I can't wait to have a family' Seeing Carl made him more excited for his own life.
So far, that is one of my sweetest memories of him!
Charlie, I hope that you and Biance will be blessed with a big loving family, that you will give your hugs as freely as you always do. I hope that the two of you will always have laughter in your life and share it with those around you!

Nina booked me for her personal portrait session while I was visiting Dubai. Portrait sessions are so important, we often forget to take note of our lives at a certain point of our lives, we either feel it is silly or we are scared that people would think we love ourselves too much, but we should always love ourselves and be proud of who we are, in this moment, right now, at this stage of our lives. Nina, you are absolutely beautiful, inside and out. I had a smile on my face throughout editing this session. I hope to see you again soon and so happy that I have made a new friend.

A beautiful, intimate wedding near Plettenberg Bay, at Zinzi Restaurant.
The day was relaxing and joyous, it was a low key wedding with only close friends and family who joined in this celebration. And in the Cape, you can not go on weather predictions, so we almost had four seasons in one day :) The day started out with sunshine, we had rain and clouds and wind, but no matter what the weather had in store, Jaco and Tamar were happy and that to me is bliss, knowing that they will create their own happiness, come rain or shine! It was a great weekend and a lot of fun hanging with these two.
I loved Tamar's off beat wedding dress, especially the top, made from crocheted doilies made by her late grandmother, Tamar had a very special bond with her and having something borrowed from someone very close to her heart, made into something so beautiful, just uplifts one's spirit.

The year is off to a wonderful start (yes, it is mid April already), I have a couple of weddings lined up that are beautiful, different and they make me smile. If my couple is having a happy day, the photos will reflect it.

It is wonderful to blog this shoot, it was shot in early February, with my favourite camera, my Contax 645 film camera #nodigital. After my workshop I decided that I had to shoot something for me, something good & simple. This shoot was inspired by things I found around my house and with people who I create with often. Thank you to Jana, Jolindi & Leandri for all your help on this shoot!

RENSCHE MARI WORKSHOP PART 2
The first Rensche Mari workshop for 2016 was the Retreat at Bordeaux Game Farm.
I loved the group of girls I got to teach and hope that I will be able to do this again soon. To every person who helped with this workshop, thank you. It is wonderful to do what you love!
A very big thank you to Eve, from Splendid Wedding Company, you are a wonderful friend and artist - this was the 3rd workshop where you styled the tables for the styled shoot and I just have to say that every time you do something it WOW's me! I am so happy that you are my friend, and that I get to talk to you every single day :D
Jana, from Silver Swallow, thank you for the touch of elegant flow you bring to my workshop every single year...I'm counting and we have worked together now for 5 years, since the first workshop. Every time you create a garment I just want to photograph it - over and over again. This dress was photographed again after the workshop and I look forward to sharing that too!

RENSCHE MARI WORKSHOP PART 1
The first Rensche Mari Workshop was held at Bordeaux Game farm, a 4 day retreat with a lot of photo sessions and learning all about Wedding Photography.
Putting together a workshop is hard work, but having a great team to help is always amazing! My 2016 Rensche Mari Wedding workshop held at Bordeaux Game Farm was a great experience and wonderful week spent with creatives from all over. I hope they wont mind if I have the next one here again.

HAPPY 2016
My year in Review.
It's a new year, a great time for a fresh start and to do things a little bit better than the year before. I have had a very blessed 2015, with amazing highs, wonderful clients, beautiful celebrations of marriage & life, and the opportunity to travel for work. I am so excited to see what the new year has in store.
