Oh my oh my! What a beautiful wedding with a magnificent backdrop that leaves you wanting to move to the country side! Mountains, open fields, antelope running free, a gorgeous bride and dapper groom and a perfect day, this was Justin & Joni's big day. Cape Town has such unpredictable weather, but we could not have had a more picturesque day than this. Jacques & Chadri got married against the beautiful mountain backdrop at the Steenberg Hotel, they both looked amazing and Chadri’s dress was absolutely beautiful. Their wedding was intimate with just their closest family and it was amazing fun to be a part of this wedding. I love what I do!

My beautiful cousin, Marné and Luan got married on our family farm in October. It was a beautiful day in the Lowveld and it is always nice visiting the farm.

Marné and her 3 sisters grew up on the farm, they call it their childhood home and this was the 3rd wedding on the farm I attended, how privilaged to start your new life with your new husband in a place you hold dear! We hope to have many more special celebrations here (hopefully a venue one day...soon)

My little brother got married...it's strange, to see your baby brother become a man, he is 7 years my junior and I used to look after my two younger brothers a lot when we were younger and when we got older, so in my mind they stay kids. 

I think of the four kids, he is probably the most romantic one, he was always the one giving hugs and kisses as a baby (on demand, so we asked regularly). About four years ago, he said something to me that I will never forget, the two of us got in the car to go meet our new born baby nephew, Carl, the first grandchild. I remember that day so clearly, we were all extremely excited! On the way there I asked him if he ever wanted children and his response threw me back a bit (I don't know why, Charlie and I have always been great with children), he said: 'Rensche, I can't wait to have a family' Seeing Carl made him more excited for his own life. 

So far, that is one of my sweetest memories of him!

Charlie, I hope that you and Biance will be blessed with a big loving family, that you will give your hugs as freely as you always do. I hope that the two of you will always have laughter in your life and share it with those around you!

The year is off to a wonderful start (yes, it is mid April already), I have a couple of weddings lined up that are beautiful, different and they make me smile. If my couple is having a happy day, the photos will reflect it. 

This gorgeous wedding was planned and styled by Zavion, from Zavion Kotze Events Company. That floral arch just stood out, I could have easily photographed everything in front of this creation, beautiful work by this team!

RENSCHE MARI WORKSHOP PART 2

Continue from Part 1

I loved the group of girls I got to teach and hope that I will be able to do this again soon. To every person who helped with this workshop, thank you. It is wonderful to do what you love!

A very big thank you to Eve, from Splendid Wedding Company, you are a wonderful friend and artist - this was the 3rd workshop where you styled the tables for the styled shoot and I just have to say that every time you do something it WOW's me! I am so happy that you are my friend, and that I get to talk to you every single day :D

Jana, from Silver Swallow, thank you for the touch of elegant flow you bring to my workshop every single year...I'm counting and we have worked together now for 5 years, since the first workshop. Every time you create a garment I just want to photograph it - over and over again. This dress was photographed again after the workshop and I look forward to sharing that too!
