I believe elopements will be the trend for most couples who are eager to get married in 2020. With South Africa putting a ban on big events, is this something you would consider for your nuptials?
Lockdown Elopement Summer Place
It is hard to imagine that we are in August already, months have passed since Lockdown started and my last wedding before Lockdown feels like a lifetime ago but July has been good to me and I got to work on a couple of projects, one of which was this gorgeous elopement.
It feels exhilarating being able to capture my client’s memories again. I had the great pleasure of photographing Anele & Noxy’s elopement shoot and it was nothing short of spectacular.

Cape Town has such unpredictable weather, but we could not have had a more picturesque day than this. Jacques & Chadri got married against the beautiful mountain backdrop at the Steenberg Hotel, they both looked amazing and Chadri’s dress was absolutely beautiful. Their wedding was intimate with just their closest family and it was amazing fun to be a part of this wedding. I love what I do!

African safari elopement
Patrick & Caitlin are from New York, they're an adventurous couple who decided to elope while they visited South Africa. I had the honour of capturing their elopement at the Lion Sands River Lodge, the ceremony was held in a dry river bank with the beautiful backdrop of elephants gracing on the river bank! They also enjoyed their honeymoon night in a very romantic tree house over the Lion Sands Game Reserve.

They also enjoyed their honeymoon night in a very romantic tree house over the Lion Sands Game Reserve.
About 2 weeks after the elopement, the last day of their trip, we went to one of my favourite places, Adventures with Elephants where we photographed Patrick and Caitlin with Chova the Elephant.
It is important to note that the second part of the shoot was shot on a different location AWE, the elephants are trained and have professionals on the shoot standing by.
